It's a new month and that means new Google Pixel security updates, including the first releases for the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G.
Google today released the November 2020 security update for Pixel phones over the air. This update may take a few days to hit your device, but you can also check for it manually if you don't feel like waiting for the OTA to come to you.
As usual, Google offers factory images and OTA images of the new updates that you can sideload onto your device if you'd prefer to update that way.
These new updates bring several bug fixes to Google's Pixel phones in addition to the security patches. The Pixel 3 and later will all receive a fix for a bug that'd cause inadvertent playlist removal on YouTube Music, plus another fix for an issue that prevents ringer audio for starred contacts in Do Not Disturb mode.
Google is also improving the Pixel 4a 5G's touch response with certain screen protectors with this update, and it's fixing a bug on the Pixel 4 and 4 XL that'd cause the screen to darken during phone calls.
The full list of bug fixes included in the November 2020 update is available below.
