LG Project B phone with rollable display tipped for early 2021 launch

Following its announcement of the Wing last month, LG teased a new device with a rollable, extendable display. It didn't say much of anything about this device, but a new report says that we could see it launch early next year.

LG's Project B device is set to launch in March 2021, according to a report from Korean publication The Elec. Project B is the codename for the device that'll let you pull one side of the screen to unroll it and give yourself a larger display.

Project B is said to be the second device in LG's Explorer Project, which the company has said aims to "discover new ways to interact with mobile devices." The first device in the Explorer Project is the LG Wing and its swiveling display.

We still don't know much about the specs of LG's Project B, so it's unclear how big the extendable screen could be.

One trend in mobile right now is the foldable phone, which is meant to give you a big screen that you can fold up so it takes up less space when you don't need it. LG is trying to tackle the same problem with Project B but it's doing so in a different way. A display that can roll up when you don't need it and then extend out when you need a bigger screen sounds like pretty neat tech, and we're looking forward to seeing how well it works with LG's Project B.
