With two weeks to go before the OnePlus 8T is officially revealed, OnePlus continues to build hype for its new phone by trickling out its features.
The OnePlus 8T will launch with Android 11 out of the box. OnePlus confirmed today that the 8T will launch with OxygenOS 11, its Android 11-based user interface, making it the "first global smartphone" to launch with Android 11.
OnePlus says that its OxygenOS 11 UI will include improved one-handed gestures for easier navigation plus a more refined experience. It includes a "bold new design" with an updated layout that moves the touch controls closer to your thumbs for easier access, more Always-on Display options to improve customization, and more intuitive animations and gestures.
In other OnePlus news, CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that there will not be a OnePlus 8T Pro this year. There's been some back-and-forth rumors and speculation lately about whether or not there would be a "T" version of the OnePlus 8 Pro, but Lau has said on Weibo that that device is not in the works.
"Users who like Pro-level products can continue to choose OnePlus 8 Pro, the annual machine king," says the OnePlus CEO. "Our plan for it is itself defined in a direction where there is no room for upgrade."
The OnePlus 8T will be officially announced on October 14.
