Mobvoi teased earlier this year that it was working on a TicWatch Pro 3 smartwatch that would be powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor, and today that device is officially launching.
The TicWatch Pro 3 is now available from Amazon and Mobvoi. Pricing is set at $299.99 for the model with a 45mm case and built-in GPS.
As mentioned before, the TicWatch Pro 3 uses a Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor, and Mobvoi touts that this is the first Wear OS smartwatch to have that chipset. The Snapdragon Wear 4100 is up to 85 percent faster than the Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip in many other Wear OS smartwatches, and the 4100's GPU is up to 2.5 times faster than the 3100's.
The display on the TicWatch Pro 3 is a 1.4-inch 454x454 AMOLED touchscreen. The case is reinforced with stainless steel and nylon with glass fiber, and Mobvoi says that the TicWatch Pro 3 is around 30 percent lighter than previous TicWatch models. The 22mm strap is user replaceable, too.
Inside the case is the aforementioned Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage. The battery is a 577mAh pack that can last up to 3 days in Smart Mode with tilt-to-wake or up to 45 days in Essential Mode that uses a low-power display.
There's NFC included with the TicWatch Pro 3 for Google Pay and the watch itself features IP68 water and dust resistance, too. The software is Wear OS with fitness tracking including heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and new Stress and Breathing features to alert you when you're getting too stressed out and breathing sessions to calm you down.
The TicWatch Pro 3 looks like a solid addition to the Wear OS ecosystem. Mobvoi is one of the more prolific and Wear OS smartwatch makers, and the Snapdragon Wear 4100 inside this new model promises to offer much-improved performance over watches with previous Snapdragon Wear chips inside them.
