Like it did with the Galaxy S10 Lite last year, Samsung appears to be prepping a new, more affordable version of its Galaxy S20 flagship. And today all of the specs of that upcoming device have leaked out.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE) has been fully revealed in a new leak. Images shared by WinFuture show that the Galaxy S20 FE has the same basic design as the regular Galaxy S20, but there are a couple small tweaks. For example, the rear cameras each have a ring around them that look similar to the Galaxy Note 20, and the bezels around the display on the S20 FE look a little thicker than on the S20.
Speaking of the display, the screen on the Galaxy S20 FE is said to be a 6.5-inch 2400x1080 Super AMOLED panel. It's completely flat, has an in-display fingerprint reader, and supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate. We can also see a hole-punch at the top of the display for the 32MP selfie camera.
The three cameras on the back of the Galaxy S20 FE reportedly include a 12MP main cam with dual phase detection autofocus, a 12MP ultra-wide camera with 123-degree field of view, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
Inside the Galaxy S20 FE is 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 4500mAh battery, and both wired fast charging and wireless charging support. There will reportedly be two different processors used in the Galaxy S20 FE: the 4G model will get a Samsung Exynos 990 while the 5G model will include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865.
Other specs expected to be included with the Galaxy S20 FE are NFC, Wireless PowerShare reverse wireless charging, and IP68 water and dust resistance. On the software side, it's said that the Galaxy S20 FE will come with Android 10 below Samsung's One UI.
Today's report also says that Samsung could announce the Galaxy S20 FE in late September or early October. One detail that's still missing is price. The Galaxy S10 Lite launched at a price of $650 while the Galaxy S10 was $900, and so we could see the Galaxy S20 FE come in at a price of $750 since the Galaxy S20 costs $1000.
