With so many different channels and services out there, it can be difficult to know where you're supposed to tune in to watch a particular game. Google wants to help with that.
Google Search will now tell you where you can find MLB and NBA games on live TV. Just search for something like "Where to watch the Blazers game" or "How to watch the Red Sox game" on your phone and Google will tell you which channel the game is on.
You can also search for an individual team or game. Search for something like "Mariners game" and you'll get a new "Live on" button that'll show you the live TV options in your area alongside the live scores, top stories, and standings.
This feature currently includes a variety of cable and network channels. Google said it'll add more leagues and more digital streaming options soon.
Google is improving its search options for regular TV shows, too. After adding TV show and movie recommendations to search last year, Google is now improving that feature by adding carousels of live content from cable and broadcast providers.
Now when you search for things like "What to watch" or "Good shows to watch" on your phone, you'll see streaming and live TV shows. The "On TV now" carousel will show you content that's on live TV right now, while a separate "On TV later" will include recommendations for future programming.
