Samsung Galaxy Buds Live official with bean-shaped design, active noise cancellation

Samsung unveiled a bevy of new devices today, including flagship smartphones, foldables, and tablets. And there some new wearable devices revealed, too.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live are new truly wireless earbuds that have a different design than the past couple generations of Galaxy Buds. The Galaxy Buds Live are shaped like a kidney bean because Samsung has laid out the internals vertically rather than horizontally.

With this new design, Samsung touts that the Galaxy Buds won't protrude from your ears, giving you a more natural appearance. They've got a tip-less design that will conform to the shape of your ear, and you can customize the fit further with two sizes of wingtips.

Another major feature of the Galaxy Buds Live is Active Noise Cancellation. The earbuds have three microphones to help block out external noise, and there's also a Voice Pickup Unit to ensure that you sound good on calls. Your voice can be used to call up Bixby, too, and the assistant can do things like control music, open apps, and send messages.

Of course, because these are earbuds, sound is an important factor. The Galaxy Buds Live each have a 12mm speaker and a bass duct, and Samsung says it worked with AKG on the audio as well. A "Game Mode" feature to help reduce audio latency when you're gaming on your phone.

And then there's the battery life. Galaxy Buds Live can get you up to 6 hours of music playback on a single charge, and the included charging case can get you an additional 15 hours of use. When your battery is low but you're ready to go, you can get 1 hour of battery life with just 5 minutes of charging.

Rounding out the Galaxy Buds Live's feature set is Qi wireless charging for the case, touch controls on the earbuds themselves, and IPX2 water resistance.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live will be available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic White, and Mystic Black color options starting tomorrow, August 6, for $169.99.
