The Pixel 4a is finally official after months of leaks and rumors. But today Google made up for making us wait for the Pixel 4a by also confirming two more new Pixel phones.
Both the Pixel 5 (above, left) and Pixel 4a 5G (above, right) have been announced by Google. These devices will launch this fall so there aren't many detailed about them confirmed right now, but we do know that they'll both have 5G connectivity and that the Pixel 4a 5G will cost $499.
Google says that the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 will be available in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, and Australia.
We are getting a sneak peek at the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G hardware with the image you see at the top of this post. Both phones definitely have that Pixel look, and we can see that they've both got rear camera bumps, too. The Pixel 4a 5G looks to be bigger than the Pixel 5, which means it could be a sort of XL counterpart to the regular Pixel 4a since there's no proper Pixel 4a XL device.
We know that 5G connectivity will be supported in these phones, too, and rumors say they'll both have a Snapdragon 765G processor.
While the Pixel 4a looks like a solid option for folks who want a lower-cost Android device, both the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 could be solid for those who demand 5G in their next phone. At $499, the Pixel 4a 5G would be one of the more affordable 5G phones on the market and it could have a bigger screen and better processor than the non-5G Pixel 4a. Then there's the Pixel 5, which doesn't yet have a price, but will presumably have a more premium build and could get some spec improvements, like a bit more RAM or a bigger battery.
