Google's got some exciting news for Stadia players this week, including a new experiment that'll let you play games anywhere.
A new Stadia Experiment is launching today, July 28, that'll let you play games over 4G and 5G cellular connections. To enable this feature, open the Stadia app on your Android phone, tap on your avatar in the upper right corner, select "Experiments", and then select "Use Mobile Data".
To date, Google Stadia has been limited to Wi-Fi, which makes sense considering how much data you can use while streaming a game from the cloud. One of the big draws of Stadia is being able to play high-quality games without a console or PC, though, and because you can play on an Android phone that can go anywhere, the ability to play games on-the-go over cellular is appealing. Just make sure you've got an unlimited data plan first.
In other Stadia news, Google today revealed the next batch of free games for Stadia Pro subscribers. Strange Brigade, Kona, Metro 2033 Redux, and Just Shapes & Beats will all be free to play for Stadia Pro subscribers starting on August 1.
Rock of Ages III will also be coming to Stadia Pro in August, but it'll be coming a bit later on August 14.
Lastly, Stadia Pro subscribers only have a few more days to claim Zombie Army 4: Dead War for free. You'll need to claim it before August 1 to get it free, and if you do, you'll continue to have free access to it for as long as you're a Stadia Pro subscriber.
