The Motorola Edge+ launched last month as a Verizon exclusive, but today there's a bit of good news for folks interested in Motorola's new flagship but unable to switch to Verizon.
Motorola is bringing its Edge (no Plus) to the US this summer in an unlocked form. Pricing will be set at $699.99, which is $300 less than the Edge+ (via The Verge).
The Motorola Edge features the same 6.7-inch 2340x1080 curved edge display as the Edge+, but it does make a few other spec sacrifices to achieve its lower price tag. For example, it's got a Snapdragon 765 processor rather than an 865, and the 108MP main camera of the Edge+ has been swapped out for a 64MP sensor. The Edge does still have 16MP ultra wide and 8MP telephoto cameras, though, plus a ToF sensor.
Other specs of the Motorola Edge include 6GB of RAM, a 4500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, dual stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. There's a 25MP selfie camera living in a hole-punch in the display, and while there's no mmWave 5G support like in the Edge+, this model does include sub-6GHz 5G.
One other feature to note is that the Motorola Edge will have 256GB of built-in storage when it arrives in the US, up from the 128GB that the Edge has in Europe. There's also a microSD card slot if you need even more storage.
