Quibi users will be able to watch the service's content on their TVs as soon as next month.
Quibi founder Jeffrey Katzenberg has revealed to Reuters that some Quibi users will get the ability to beam content from their phone to their TV starting in May. Right now Quibi can only be viewed on your phone, but with many people quarantining at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, some users would like the ability to watch on their bigger TV screen.
Katzenberg didn't go into detail about how many Quibi users will get the ability to cast shows to their TV or how it'll be determined which users get it first. If you've been wanting to watch Quibi's quick bites on your TV instead of your phone, though, you'll be glad to hear that Quibi has indeed fast-tracked that feature.
While it is only available on phones right now, that isn't stopping people from checking Quibi out. The app has been downloaded 2.7 million times since its launch on April 6th. That figure is up 1 million from the number of downloads announced by Quibi on April 13th.
