Google today unleashed the third update to its Android 11 Developer Preview ahead of the public release later this year.
Android 11 Developer Preview 3 is now available for the Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 4 devices. If you're already running the Android 11 preview, you should get this update over the air. Google does offer factory images if you'd prefer to flash the update manually.
Also available is the Android Flash Tool. This lets you flash the Android 11 Developer Preview to your eligible Pixel device on the web, making it faster and easier to get Android 11 running on your phone.

And here's what's new in today's release:
- App exit reasons updates: Google has updated its APIs based on developer feedback, allowing devs to request the details of their app's recent exits.
- GWP-ASan heap analysis: GWP-ASan is a sampling allocation tool that detects heap memory errors with minimal impact on performance. This is now an option for developers to find and fix memory safety issues.
- ADB Incremental: This feature is meant to make installing large APKs, think 2GB or more in size, faster when using Android Debug Bridge (ADB). Google says that with ADB Incremental, installing these big APKs from your development computer to an Android 11 device is up to 10x faster.
- Wireless Debugging: In Android 11, Google is completely revamping the experience of debugging with ADB over Wi-Fi. This Wireless Debugging feature doesn't need a cable to set up, remembers connections over time, and can utilize the full speed of the latest Wi-Fi standards.
- Data access auditing updates: In Android 11 DP3, Google has renamed several of this APIs for this data access auditing feature. The feature enables developers to instrument their app to better understand how it accesses user data and from which user flows.
Google has said that it expects the final release of Android 11 to come in late Q3 2020. We should see a few beta releases before then, with the next expected in mid-May.
