After spending a couple of weeks teasing the Velvet as the start of a new product roadmap, LG is nearly ready to spill the beans on its next big thing.
The LG Velvet will be unveiled on May 7th. Specifically, the digital event will kick off at 10:00 am in Korea on May 10th, which would be 9:00 pm on May 6th ET. LG adds that it plans to officially launch the Velvet in Korea in mid-May.
According to the translated announcement from LG, the event will be a "fashion show that boasts innovative designs." The video teaser for the event hints at the LG Velvet's Raindrop camera design as well as the four colors that the phone will be offered in: Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset.
LG has already revealed the design of the Velvet, which includes a tall display with slim bezels and a waterdrop notch and a 3D Arc Design where the edges of the front and back of the phone are symmetrically curved. The Raindrop camera includes three snappers, one main cam that protrudes from the body and two under glass.
While this upcoming event will likely be will LG spills most of the specs of the Velvet, we do know that it'll be powered by a Snapdragon 765, which means it'll support 5G. We've also seen that it'll have a USB-C port for charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
There's not much else that's been officially announced about the Velvet, but rumors say it could get its own Dual Screen case and include pen support. The good news is that LG's event is just two weeks away, so we don't have long to wait before all is revealed.
