Another new month means another new round of security updates for Google Pixel devices, and they're rolling out starting today.
Google has begun pushing the April 2020 security patch updates to eligible Pixel devices, which include the Pixel 4 and 4 XL, Pixel 3 and 3 XL, Pixel 3a and 3a XL, and Pixel 2 and 2 XL. Also available are the factory images and OTA images if you'd prefer to install the new update that way.
The 2020-04-01 Android security update patches vulnerabilities related to the framework, media framework and system, while the 2020-04-05 security patch level adds fixes for the framework, kernel components, FPC components, Qualcomm components, and Qualcomm closed-source components.
Google has also included some functional patches for Pixel owners in this April 2020 update. They include a couple of Bluetooth bug fixes and a framework fix that targets occasional lag when opening the keyboard in some apps.
If you've got an eligible Pixel phone, you should see this new update hit your device in the coming days. You can also check for it manually in your Settings app if you don't feel like waiting.
