Less than two months after shutting down, HQ Trivia is making a comeback.
Folks who still had the HQ Trivia app installed got a push notification yesterday to say that the show would be back at 9:00 pm ET. The show offered a $1,000 prize pool and had more than 100,000 people joining in at the start, notes The Wall Street Journal.
HQ Trivia shut down in February, with founder Rus Yusupov saying that HQ's lead investors were no longer willing to fund the company. However, now HQ is back thanks to an anonymous investor who has given the show enough funding to start back up.
The good news for fans of HQ is that the show is coming back with a regular schedule and that this isn't just a one-time thing. That's according to The Verge, who reports that shows will be on regularly but that an exact schedule hasn't been set yet.
Yo. You heard??!? @hqtrivia is back tonight at 9pm eastern! Download the app now! Also if you been waiting to cash out, you’ll be able to this week!

Originally launched in 2017, HQ Trivia has players log on at a certain time each day and answer multiple choice questions from their phone for the chance to win money. The show had millions of viewers at the height of its popularity, but it ended up falling out of the spotlight due to things like technical problems.
Fast-forward to today and HQ is back, and it seems like it could be good timing. Many people are self-isolating at home to fight the spread of the coronavirus, meaning they may be more likely to log on to a regularly scheduled online trivia show.
Are you going to play HQ Trivia now that it's back? You can download HQ Trivia for Android and iOS.
