We learned today that the OnePlus 8 series will be officially revealed on April 14th, but before then, the rumor mill is working to spill more details on the new devices.
New info on the OnePlus 8 Pro camera setup has leaked out. We already know that the OP8 Pro will have a quad rear camera array, but Ishan Agarwal and Pricebaba have now shared more details on exactly what those sensors are going to be.
The main camera on the OnePlus 8 Pro will reportedly be a 48MP cam with a Sony IMX689 sensor and f/1.78 aperture. Next there's a 48MP ultra wide camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and 120-degree field of view. There's an 8MP telephoto cam with f/2.44 aperture, 3x optical zoom, and 30x digital zoom, too, plus a 5MP color filter.
OnePlus is also purportedly include an all-new portrait mode with the 8 Pro, some new cinematic effects, and improved optical image stabilization. A new feature called "3-HDR" video is expected to be included, too, but details on it are light.
Many people rely on their smartphone camera for all of their picture-taking needs, so it's good to see OnePlus working to improve its photography chops by adding another camera from the OnePlus 7T and adding new software features, too. Of course, we'll have to wait until we get the OnePlus 8 Pro in our hands to see if these cameras are actually improved from last year's hardware, but the good news is that that wait won't be long.
In other OnePlus 8 Pro news, Ishan Agarwal has leaked a few details about the phone's display. It's expected that the 8 Pro will have a 6.78-inch Super Fluid Curved screen with 120Hz refresh rate. Other features purportedly include an MEMC, HDR10+ (1400 nits), and always on 10-bit HDR.
Agarwal also teases that OnePlus is working to make OxygenOS smoother and faster and that the haptics on the OnePlus 8 Pro will be improved, too.
