Always On Display is a feature we see on a lot of Android phones, often giving you helpful information like the date, time, and your notifications at a glance. And soon that feature will be coming to OnePlus phones.
OnePlus has confirmed that adding an Always On Display feature is on its roadmap for OxygenOS. An idea for the feature was submitted in the OnePlus Community forums and received more than 999 likes, and now OnePlus says that it's adopting the feature.
According to OnePlus, its Always On Display feature has passed initial power consumption tests and has been added to the company's roadmap. "We are working on fine-tuning AOD to make sure it is perfectly optimized," OnePlus says.
There's no word yet on exactly OnePlus will release its AOD feature or which phones will get it. Several recent OnePlus phones include AMOLED displays that are good for AOD, and so we could see OnePlus bring the feature to its recent models through an OxygenOS update. The good news is that at least now we've gotten confirmation from OnePlus that AOD is coming.
The top IDEA is Always-On Display. We hear you, and our OS Product team has replied: it's on our roadmap.
