In 2019, Samsung introduced the truly wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds. And now the company is back with an updated version.
Following the announcements of the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy Z Flip foldable phone, Samsung has also introduced a pair of new, truly wireless earbuds. The Galaxy Buds+ look pretty much identical to the first version of the lineup, but make an important change to battery life which will probably be a welcomed one to potential customers.
First and foremost, the Galaxy Buds+ will retail for $149 and be available in blue, white, and black color options. They offer custom fitting sizes as well, making it easier to find a good fit for your ears. But the biggest change of all comes to the battery life. Samsung says the new Galaxy Buds+ can last up to 11 hours on a single charge. And, using the wireless charging case, owners can get up to 22 hours of listening time.
The company also notes that with just 3 minutes of charging, the Galaxy Buds+ can get up to 60 minutes of music playback.
Samsung is also making it easy to pair to Samsung devices (running Android 7.1.1 or newer). Just bring the Galaxy Buds+ close to the supported Samsung device and a panel will pop up, offering a single button to connect. Once the device is paired, then any other Samsung handset that's connected to the owner's Samsung account will also be able to quickly pair to the wireless in-ear headphones.
To improve voice call performance the Galaxy Buds+ now support three total microphones in each earbud, with two external microphones joining the design. And the earbuds feature dual dynamic drivers, a new tweeter for better treble, and a woofer for improved bass.
If you use Spotify, there's a bonus: simply tap-and-hold the left earbud to quickly launch the music streaming app.
