Removable batteries have largely disappeared from the smartphone world, but Samsung is keeping the feature alive with its newest device.
The Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro features a removable 4050mAh battery. Most folks are used to carrying around battery packs and topping up on wireless chargers nowadays due to the widespread use of non-removable batteries, but with a removable battery like on the Galaxy XCover Pro, you can just swap in a fresh battery and continue on your way.
This rugged smartphone also features IP68 water and dust resistance as well as the MIL-STD 810G standard for protection against drops and shocks. The 6.3-inch 2400x1080 screen includes support for Wet Touch and Glove Mode, letting you use the display when your hands are wet or are covered in gloves.
The back of the Galaxy XCover Pro includes a dual camera setup with a 25MP main sensor and 8MP wide angle camera, and around front there's a 13MP selfie camera living in a hole-punch. Inside is an octa-core Samsung Exynos 9611 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. And like many other Samsung phones, this one's got a microSD card slot.
Rounding out this new Samsung phone's spec list is a USB-C port, side-mounted fingerprint reader, NFC, dual SIM slots, and a Push To Talk button.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy XCover Pro in Finland later this month at a price of €499 EUR ($555 USD). WinFuture expects the device to launch in European markets in February.
