To date, the Apple Watch has only been available in pretty traditional watch-like colors, like Space Gray, Gold, and Silver. Today a report claims that Apple could soon shake that up with a color that's a bit more fun.
The Apple Watch could launch in a PRODUCT(RED) color option next year. The folks at WatchGeneration (via MacRumors) say that the device briefly appeared in an Apple database with a different reference number than the PRODUCT(RED) Apple Watch bands that are currently available.
This PRODUCT(RED) wearable would reportedly be an Apple Watch Series 5 model, likely with an aluminum body. You can see a mockup of what that might look like at the top of this post.
There's no word on when Apple might launch the PRODUCT(RED) watch, but sometime in the spring is a possibility. If the device is briefly appearing in an Apple database, that suggests that Apple could be preparing to launch it in the coming months. Plus, Apple previously launched PRODUCT(RED) versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 in March 2017 and April 2018, respectively.
