One week after the carrier versions of the Galaxy S10 began getting Android 10, it now looks like Samsung's unlocked model has begun receiving the update, too.
The U.S. unlocked versions of the Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e are now getting their update to Android 10 and One UI 2. Several S10 owners on Reddit report that the update is now rolling out over the air, so if you've got an unlocked S10, S10+, or S10e, you should watch for your own serving of Android 10 in the coming days.
If you've got a Galaxy S10, your update will be version G973U1UEU2CSKP. Galaxy S10+ owners can expect an update to version G975U1UEU2CSKP, while Galaxy S10e owners will get G970U1UEU2CSKP.
The update to Android 10 and One UI 2 is a biggie, coming in at around 2GB. The good news is that Samsung has packed a lot of features into that update to make it worth the large download. Ther are new full screen navigation gestures, an improved dark mode with enhanced image, text, and color adjustments for day and night environments, smoother animations, and clearer app icons and system colors.
Samsung has also improved its battery usage graph to show more detailed infomation and included several Digital Wellbeing improvements, like a Focus Mode that'll help you silence apps when you need to focus on what you're doing. A better Camera app layout will make it easier to take photos without settings getting in the way, and there are now speed and time units in the Calculator app's unit converter.
Once the U.S. carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S10 began getting Android 10, we knew that it was only a matter of time before the U.S. unlocked S10 models started getting the update, too. Now the rollout has officially begun, so if you've got an unlocked GS10, go grab your Android 10 update and check out all of the new features!
