Verizon 5G network now live in Los Angeles

Verizon's 5G network is growing again.

Verizon today launched 5G coverage in Los Angeles, CA. There's no coverage map available for LA quite yet — Verizon says that it's coming on December 20th — but we do have a list of places in the city that you'll be able to find Verizon's 5G coverage:

Parts of Downtown, Chinatown, Del Rey, and Venice around landmarks such as Grand Park, Los Angeles Convention Center, Union Station, LA Live, Staples Center, and Venice Beach Boardwalk

In order to get onto Verizon's 5G network, you'll need a 5G-capable smartphone. Those include the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, LG V50 ThinQ, and Moto Z4 with the 5G Moto Mod add-on.

You'll also need one of Verizon's recent unlimited plans to get 5G access. Most of them include 5G at no extra charge, but the Start Unlimited plan does require a $10 per month add-on to get 5G access.

Los Angeles is the 19th city to get access to Verizon's 5G network. Verizon says that it plans to have 5G in more than 30 cities by the end of this year, so we should see a flurry of additional launches in the next couple of weeks. Other cities slated to get Verizon 5G in the near future include Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Des Moines, Little Rock, Memphis, and Salt Lake City.
