AT&T recently promised that it would soon launch low-band 5G coverage in five markets, but it's actually doubled that number.

Also launching at AT&T today is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, which is the device you can buy if you want to jump on this new low-band 5G coverage. It's available online and in AT&T stores at a price of $43.34 per month for 30 months or $1,299.99 full retail.
Customers who want to get onto AT&T's low-band 5G will need to sign up for the carrier's Unlimited Extra or Unlimited Elite plans. Those cost $75 and $85 per month, respectively, but there's no extra charge for accessing 5G.
Looking ahead, AT&T says it plans to deploy its low-band 5G coverage in Boston, MA; Bridgeport, CT; Buffalo, NY; Las Vegas, NV; New York, NY; and other markets soon. AT&T expects its low-band 5G to be available nationwide in the first half of 2020.
Low-band 5G is the second kind of 5G that AT&T has rolled out, the other being high-band 5G or what AT&T calls "5G+". The difference is that low-band can reach farther and is better at penetrating buildings than the high-band, but it's speeds typically aren't as fast. Also of note is that AT&T's high-band 5G+ is currently only available to business customers. AT&T's high-band 5G+ is now available in parts of 23 cities, including new locales like King of Prussia, PA and West Hollywood, CA.
