Apple today announced the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Service Program for No Power Issues. The company explains that select iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus units may not power on due to a component that might fail.
This issue affects models with a limited serial number range that were manufactured between October 2018 and August 2019. That means that if you bought an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s shortly after they launched in 2015, you're probably fine. If you think your iPhone might be affected, you can visit Apple's website (via MacRumors) to enter your serial number and see if your device qualifies.
If your iPhone is affected by this problem, Apple will repair it free of charge. You can either take your device to an Apple Authorized Service Provider, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact Apple Support to have your device mailed in and repaired that way.
