The OnePlus 7T hasn't even hit store shelves yet, and the first images of the OnePlus 8 have reportedly come out.
Renders that reportedly show the OnePlus 8 depict a device with a vertically-stacked triple rear camera setup like on the OnePlus 7 Pro, but with a different display. The images, which OnLeaks and CashKaro say are based on schematics from a company insider, claim that the OnePlus 8 will ditch the waterdrop notch found on the OnePlus 7 and 7T and will instead have a hole-punch in the upper-left corner of the screen for the front camera.
Today's report also claims that the OnePlus 8 will have wireless charging, which would be a first for OnePlus. The company has said in the past that it has skipped wireless charging because its wired Warp Charge fast charging is faster, but some folks still like the convenience of plopping their phone on a wireless charging pad to get power. Now it sounds like OnePlus may have found a wireless charging solution it's happy with, and we're betting that a lot of people would be happy to see wireless charging included in a OnePlus phone.
Other details mentioned in today's report include the claim that the OnePlus 8 will have a 6.5-inch screen with curved edges and dimensions of 160.2 x 72.9 x 8.1mm. To compare, the OnePlus 7T is 160.94 × 74.44 × 8.13mm and the OnePlus 7 Pro is 162.6 × 75.9 × 8.8mm. The renders also show an alert slider and a USB-C port.
There's no word on when the OnePlus 8 might be announced, but the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro were revealed in mid-May 2019. That means we could still be a ways out from the official reveal of this OnePlus 8.
