Next month, Google is going to officially announce the newest members of its Pixel smartphone lineup. The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are basically confirmed at this point, but of course Google wants to hold an event where it will show off the new smartphones, what they can do, and talk about specs.

But the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL have a bit of an upwards battle at this point, as far as excitement goes for an upcoming event. Because if these are two devices you’ve been remotely interested in over the last several months, then you probably already know everything about them. Because while the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL saw plenty of leaks in their own right last year, the Pixel 4 series has demolished that record.

The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are easily the most-leaked handsets in recent memory. Which is impressive for all the wrong reasons.

Those early leaks actually seemed to spur Google into action when it confirmed the rear camera design of the upcoming handsets, confirming in one fell swoop that Google would be changing the camera design in its newest flagship smartphones, but also confirming they existed at all. It was an odd move, and it has not stopped the leaks from crashing down at a seemingly record pace.

We know just about everything there is at this point. We’ve seen hands-on videos and photos, we know the specs, and we’ve even seen camera samples! We know that Google Assistant will be slightly tweaked, and even faster, on the new Pixel smartphones. It’s not a stretch to say that Google really won’t have a lot to announce on stage in October.

And of course the leaks have painted a pretty clear picture: these will be powerful handsets with plenty of features to sink your teeth into when the handsets finally launch later this year. Google will probably try to sell the idea of upgrading from a Pixel 3 to a Pixel 4, but maybe more so from a Pixel 2 to the newest members of the family. Whatever the case, it looks like if you’re in the market for a new Pixel, these new handsets should fit the bill.

That’s really what I’m most curious about at the moment. I’m sure we’ll talk about the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL again after they get officially announced, but for now I’m wondering if all these leaks have swayed your decision on the handset already — before Google announces anything.
