We learned earlier this month that iOS 13.1 would follow closely behind iOS 13, with the former update coming less than two weeks after the latter. Now Apple has made the wait for iOS 13.1 even shorter.

Apple is moving up its updates to iOS 13.1 and iPadOS, with the company refreshing its website to show that the updates will be released on September 24. That's nearly a week earlier than they were previously scheduled to launch.

The iOS 13.1 beta tests have included a handful of features originally announced for iOS 13 but then moved back. Those include Shortcut Automations and a Share ETA feature in Apple Maps.

There's no official word on why Apple decided to move up the iOS 13.1 and iPadOS releases, but the change does mean that iPhone and iPad owners will get the new features that come with those updates even sooner than expected.
