Apple Arcade is now live, one-month free trial available

After launching a few days early for select iOS beta testers, Apple Arcade is now live for everyone.

Apple Arcade is now available on iPhone and is coming soon to iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. Pricing is set at $4.99 per month for a family of up to six members, but Apple is offering a one-month free trial so you can check out the games before plunking down any cash.

Games in Apple Arcade are ad-free and don't have any in-app purchases. Your progress is synced between devices, meaning you could play on your iPhone and pick right back up on your iPad or other compatible device, and you can play games offline because you're downloading them to your device. Apple Arcade is also compatible with Screen Time and parental controls.

It's also worth noting that with the updates to iOS 13 and iPadOS, you can pair a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One controller with Bluetooth to an iPhone or iPad if you'd prefer to play with a real controller.

There are several games available in Apple Arcade right now, including titles like Sayonara Wild Hearts, Frogger in Toy Town, ChuChu Rocket! Universe, Sonic Racing, Lego Brawls, and Shinsekai Into the Depths. Apple says that there will be more than 100 games rolling out this fall.

At launch, Apple Arcade looks like it could be a pretty enticing option for folks who like to play games on their phones. Most quality mobile games cost a least a few bucks, so instead of paying $5 for one game, you can pay that amount and get access to everything in Apple Arcade. Plus, this service could get folks to play games that they normally might not try because they don't want to pay a bunch of money to try a game that they've never touched before.

Now that it's live, are you going to try Apple Arcade?
