Apple doesn't typically reveal all of the hardware specs of its new iPhone models, leaving us to dig through regulatory filings and tear down devices to find out details like RAM and battery size. Today those details may have been revealed for Apple's latest iPhones.
Chinese regulatory firm TENAA has listings for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, and they include the RAM and battery sizes for each phone. Spotted by MacRumors, the listings show that all three models have 4GB of RAM, which is up from 3GB in last year's iPhone XR but the same as the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 11 is listed as having a 3110mAh battery, up from the iPhone XR's 2942mAh battery. The iPhone 11 Pro has a 3046mAh battery, an increase from the iPhone XS's 2658mAh battery. And finally, the iPhone 11 Pro Max is packing a 3969mAh battery, up from the iPhone XS Max's 3174mAh battery.
While these numbers aren't coming direct from Apple, TENAA accurately revealed RAM and battery size information for the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max last year as well as the iPhone X the year before that.
Apple has said that the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max all get better battery life than last year's phones that they're replacing, and so lots of folks have been wondering how much of that was the result of a bigger battery. It turns out that Apple was able to cram considerably larger batteries into the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max, which is likely a major contributing factor to the 4 and 5 hours of extra battery life that they're respectively able to achieve.
