Huawei's big Mate 30 event is just a couple of weeks away, but before then, the rumor mill may have revealed the design of Huawei's next big flagship.
Renders of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro have leaked out, showing a device with a large screen with curved edges and a notch as well as a quad rear camera setup. These renders aren't made by Huawei but instead are based on factory CAD drawings and are shared by Pricebaba and OnLeaks, who cautions that the details may not be completely accurate due to the tricky CADs.
There appears to be three cameras inside the notch at the top of the screen, which would give the Huawei Mate 30 Pro a total of seven cameras. It's rumored that the rear cameras could include a main 40MP cam with variable aperture, a 40MP wide angle camera, an 8MP telephoto sensor, and a Time of Flight cam for getting depth info.
The display on the Mate 30 Pro is rumored to measure around 6.6 inches, and we can see a USB-C port on the bottom of the phone and a power button on the side. Interestingly, there doesn't seem to be any volume rocker on the side of the phone. Rumors say that Mate 30 Pro users may have to use a touch-sensitive are above the power button to adjust the phone's volume.
Rounding out the rumored specs is a Kirin 990 processor, 4500mAh battery, and up to 55W fast charging support.
The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro placed a big focus on camera performance, boasting triple rear camera setups that included a 40MP main sensor, 20MP wide angle cam, and 8MP telephoto snapper on the Mate 20 Pro. Given that, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Huawei one-up itself with the Mate 30 Pro. What'll be interesting is seeing what the company plans to offer with all those selfie cams on the front of the device. Perhaps standard and wide angle cams are planned, but it's a mystery for now. The good news is that with Huawei's event happening on September 19, we don't have long to wait before all is revealed.
