It's expected that Google will introduce the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL in around one month, but before it does, the new phones appear to have passed through the FCC.

New Google products have appeared in the FCC today, and while there's no explicit mention that they're the new Pixel phones, it seems likely that that's the case. The devices are all listed as being a "Phone" and have the model numbers G020I, G020J, G020M, G020N, G020P, and G020Q, which seems to line up with model numbers for Google's Pixel phones. For example, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL are G020A through G020H.

There's not a ton of exciting info buried inside these FCC listings because stuff like the external photos are being kept confidential for now. The G020I and G020J models include support for GSM and CDMA as well as LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 14, 17, 25, 26, 30, 38, 41, 48, 66, and 71, which ought to help it work on U.S. carriers. The other variants make some changes to the supported LTE bands, which could indicate variants for different regions or operators.

Perhaps most interesting here is a mention of a 60GHz Low Power Transmitter that works between 58-63.5GHz spectrum. As noted by Android Police, that's the same spectrum that Google's Project Soli works with, and we know that Google is using Soli for Motion Sense gestures and face unlock.

Reports have suggested that Google is planning to introduce the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL at an event in October, just like it's done with its past three generations of Pixel flagships. And so while it's not a huge surprise to see the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL passing through the FCC a month before that event is likely to happen, it's still good to see both phones making progress toward their release.
