After introducing its new Xperia 1 flagship at MWC in February, it looks like Sony is prepping a follow-up for IFA next month.

The first photos of Sony's new Xperia flagship have been leaked by Xperia Blog. The design looks similar to the Xperia 1, including a 21:9 form factor and a triple rear camera setup, though the cameras have been moved to the corner of this new phone's backside.

This leaked Sony Xperia flagship has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, just like the Xperia 1, and it appears to have a dedicated camera button as well. Sony is one of the few device makers still putting a dedicated camera button on the side of its phones, so it's nice to see that that'll continue with this new flagship.

There's no word on what kind of specs Sony is packing into its new device. The Xperia 1 is a well-specced flagship, offering a 6.5-inch 3840x1644 OLED screen and Snapdragon 855 processor, but it did come with 6GB of RAM, so Sony could bump that up to 8GB to match other Android flagships hitting the market. Increased storage and a larger battery than the 3300mAh pack found in the Xperia 1 are also possibilities.

IFA 2019 kicks off on September 9, so if Sony is planning to show this new flagship there, it won't be long before all of the details are spilled.
