If you've got an Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3 on your wrist, then pay attention, because some important news about your smartwatch has come out today.
Apple has rolled out a screen replacement program for the aluminum versions of the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 (via MacRumors). The company has found that a crack could form along the rounded edge of the screen in these models, starting on one side and then continuing along around the screen like in the image above.
These cracks only appear under "very rare circumstances", Apple says. Customers who are affected can get a replacement screen for their Apple Watch free of charge. This process involves the customer sending their Apple Watch to an Apple Repair Center that will then examine it and confirm that it's eligible. The watch will be returned in around five business days.

Apple also notes that the new screen replacement program covers eligible models of the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 for three years after the first retail sale of the unit or one year from the start of the program, whichever is longer.
The screen is a pretty important part of the Apple Watch, and these cracks look like they could be pretty distracting even if they're not directly in the middle of the watch's display. If you've got an aluminum Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3, be on the lookout for a crack along the edge of the display.
