OnePlus continued to build up hype for the OnePlus TV today by sharing a couple more details of the upcoming device.
The OnePlus TV will run Android TV, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said in an announcement today. "OnePlus TV is our first step to gradually establish a OnePlus IoT ecosystem," Lau explained. "In order to do so, we had to choose an operating system that can interact and seamlessly connect with your Android phone. Android TV is the natural choice."
Lau went on to say that OnePlus is working with Google to "optimized the Android TV user experience" and give the OnePlus "at least" three years' worth of Android TV updates.
OnePlus has said that the OnePlus TV will debut in September. We don't know what it'll look like or how much it'll cost, but the Bluetooth SIG database did suggest that the TV will be available in 43-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch sizes. The OnePlus TV will launch in India first, followed by releases in North America, Europe, and China.
