The Apple rumor mill is heating up ahead of the fall and the expected debut of new iOS hardware, and this weekend there are possible leaks regarding a new iPhone and a new iPad.
First up, it's rumored that Apple will introduce a "Pro" model iPhone this year. A Twitter account by the name CoinX posted a rhetorical question about Apple using the "Pro" moniker on a new iPhone model. This anonymous Twitter user has an accurate track record with Apple leaks, including leaking the names of the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR.

Adding support to this rumor is a tip that MacRumors received around a week ago that claimed that a new iPhone with a square camera module will be called "iPhone 11 Pro".
One of the rumored upgrades of this year's new iPhones is a triple rear camera setup on the higher-end models, up from the dual rear cameras on the iPhone XS and XS Max. Leaked renders have shown that this triple camera array will be set up in a square housing. It's possible that Apple will release the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, replacing the "Max" moniker that it used in 2018. Apple already uses "Pro" on its iPad line, so adding a "Pro" model iPhone could help to unify its iOS product lineup.
Speaking of the iPad, a new report claims that Apple's new 2019 iPad Pro models will have a triple rear camera setup like the iPhone 11. That's according to Chinese supplier sources speaking to Macotakara (via 9to5Mac), who also say that the rumored 10.2-inch iPad could get a dual rear camera setup. That 10.2-inch iPad is expected to replace Apple's entry-level 9.7-inch iPad.
Both the current iPad Pro and standard iPad have single rear cameras, so new models with triple and dual rear camera setups would be big upgrades. Most tablet owners probably don't use their device's rear cameras as much as they do the cameras on their phone, but adding multiple cameras to the rear of the iPad could give a boost to their augmented reality (AR) features.
