We've seen a few smartphones come to market in recent years with curved edge displays, but Oppo is taking that concept and pushing it to the extreme.
Oppo today showed off its new Waterfall Screen tech. The prototype phone shown has a display that pours over onto the left and right sides of the phone covers a good portion of them. When scrolling through your home screen, the Waterfall Screen lets you see the app icons wrapping around the edge and coming to the front of the display.
This prototype Oppo phone also has slim bezels at the top and bottom of the screen, though its chin looks a little bit bigger than its forehead.
Oppo isn't saying much more about its Waterfall Screen tech right now. The device it's being shown on is called a prototype, so we don't yet know what the first phone to be released with Waterfall Screen tech will be, nor do we know when it'll launch.

The Waterfall Screen tech definitely looks cool, but there are likely to be some concerns about accidental touches when you're just trying to hold the phone in everyday use. That's likely something Oppo has thought about, and so we're looking forward to trying this Waterfall Screen tech in a real, final product and seeing how well it rejects accidental touches.
