The Galaxy Fold (shown above) still hasn't launched after being delayed due to display issues, but today a report claims to have info on Samsung's next foldable device.
Samsung is reportedly working on a new foldable device with a different form factor than the Galaxy Fold. This new device has a clamshell form factor, says ETNews, which would make it similar to the flip phones that many people used to carry.
When unfolded, this clamshell foldable is said to have a 6.7-inch screen, which would be a bit smaller than the Galaxy Fold's 7.3-inch screen. When the clamshell device is folded, it'll reportedly have a 1-inch screen so that you can see info like incoming calls.
Samsung isn't the only company that's rumored to be making a clamshell-style foldable phone, as Motorola is said to have a new RAZR in the works with that same form factor. The clamshell design could help these foldable phones be a bit more compact than something like the Galaxy Fold or Mate X while still giving you a nice big screen when you unfold it.
What do you think of this rumored Samsung clamshell foldable? Does the form factor make you interested in it?
