Sprint has joined the bandwagon and has introduced its new personal tracking device called the “Tracker + Safe & Found.” The tool is a matchbook-sized device that can be attached to your valuables. You can purchase this tool at a monthly price of $2.50 for 24 months (total of $60). There is also a $5 per month charge for service.
Previously, AT&T and Verizon unveiled their own tracking device. Along with the launch, these two offered a free year of service for outright purchases. Sprint changes this by offering a 30-day money-back guarantee to customers who are unhappy with their purchase.
Sprint’s Tracker tool is different than AT&T’s Tile tracker. For starters, the latter depends mostly on Bluetooth connectivity. This makes it a lot cheaper than the other devices and does not require a monthly service fee. But if you require a device that offers a more thorough tracking capability, Sprint’s Tracker does a pretty decent job.
The Tracker uses Sprint’s LTE network and standalone GPS. The device also comes with a light sensor and a speaker with an SOS function. The battery life can last from 3 to 10 days, with a warning on the Safe & Found mobile companion app when it drops to 15 percent.
We’re waiting for T-Mobile to introduce their own tracking device product.
