As Android Q approaches, lots of existing Android users are wondering if their phone will receive an update to the next major release. Today we've got some info on Huawei's plans.
Huawei says (via XDA-Developers) that the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, Mate 20 RS, P30, P30 Pro, Honor View 20 (V20), and the Honor Magic 2. The updates are expected to begin rolling out after Google releases Android Q for its Pixel phones, which the company has said will happen in Q3 2019.
Unsurprisingly, Huawei will be using its custom EMUI user interface on top of Android Q when it begins rolling out its updates. The company hasn't revealed which, if any, new features it has planned for its Q-based EMUI user interface.
Most of the devices that Huawei plans on updating to Android Q are recent releases, so this list doesn't come as a huge surprise. Still, it's good to get a list of devices that are confirmed to be getting an Android Q update straight from Huawei. Now owners of those eight models can rest easy knowing that a Q update is in their future.
