Following leaks that claimed to show off the iPhone XI and iPhone XI Max, a new batch of renders has come out that claim to show Apple's next iPhone XR.
Images that allegedly show the 2019 iPhone XR have been posted today, showing a device that doesn't have a huge design change but does have one notable upgrade. The renders, which come from OnLeaks and Pricebaba, are not official Apple images but are based on factory CAD drawings.
The one big change with this 2019 iPhone XR is the dual rear camera setup. The iPhone XR has just one rear camera, but with the upcoming iPhone XI and iPhone XI Max rumored to be moving to a triple rear camera setup, Apple could give the 2019 iPhone XR a dual rear camera system to make it a bigger upgrade, especially if the design is similar to last year's model.
The features of these two cameras are unknown. The iPhone XR has a single 12MP wide angle camera while the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max add a 12MP telephoto camera, so it's possible that Apple will give this 2019 iPhone XR a telephoto snapper, too. Both cameras are in a squircle housing that protrudes from the back of the device.
This new 2019 iPhone XR is rumored to have a 6.1-inch screen, just like the current iPhone XR. The phone's dimensions are said to be 150.9 x 76 x 8.3mm, which is just slightly wider than the current iPhone XR that measures 150.9 x 75.7 x 8.3mm.
Apple introduced the iPhone XR last year as the lower-cost alternative to the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Apparently the price, design, and fun color options did well enough with consumers for Apple to want to make a second model. While not a huge overhaul, the addition of a second camera could make the 2019 iPhone XR a tempting upgrade for those folks who haven't moved to an iPhone X-family phone yet, especially with their bright color options.
