Time to pour one out for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
Google has stopped selling the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL in the Google Store, leaving just the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL as the only phones you can buy direct from Google. Both phones launched in October 2017, so they lasted around a year and a half on Google's virtual shelves.
Of course, even if Google is no longer selling the Pixel 2 phone, you can still buy the XL elsewhere if you really want it. Both Verizon and Best Buy are currently selling the Pixel 2 XL online, but there's a bit of a difference in price between the two: Verizon is asking the full $849.99 retail price for the phone, but Best Buy has the Pixel 2 XL on sale for $399.99.
The Pixel 2 XL may no longer be Google's flagship smartphone, but it's still a solid device for folks looking for a lower-cost Android phone. It's got a large 6-inch 2880x1440 pOLED screen, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 12.2MP camera. Google has brought some Pixel 3 features to the Pixel 2 XL, too, like Call Screen and Night Sight, and the Pixel 2 XL will get an update to Android Q when it's released and will continue getting updates through October 2020.
If you've got a Pixel 2 XL, how has it been treating you lately?
