In the mobile industry, things are preparing to get even better. With network carriers gearing up for the launch of 5G network, it’s important to see how smartphone manufacturers are doing their part as well. Samsung, for instance, has already revealed its plans to unleash a Samsung Galaxy S10 5G smartphone that will be capable of supporting next generation networks.
But while this smartphone was revealed last month, Samsung did not elaborate how much the Galaxy S10 5G device will cost. Thankfully, Samsung has revealed the price of this smartphone for the Korean market. And already, we can tell that it definitely won’t come cheap.
As announced earlier, Samsung will be selling the Galaxy S10 5G at a price of 1,387,018 South Korean won ($1,220) for the 256GB variant and 1,550,732 South Korean won ($1,365) for the higher 512GB variant. But there is reason to believe Samsung will be pricing the Galaxy S10 5G differently in the US compared to its direct monetary conversion. This same pattern was seen in how Samsung priced the Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ in South Korea and slightly lowering the price for its US market.
If ever this is the case, the Galaxy S10 5G could cost around $1,200 for the base 256GB model and up to $1,350 for the 512GB memory option. There is, however, some doubt as to whether both models will actually make it to US shores.
In Korea, the Galaxy S10 5G is reported to rollout on May 5. As for its launch date outside Korea, this is still something that Samsung has not divulged to the public. But as past reports have shown, Verizon has exclusivity in offering this device ahead of its other competitors and retail markets. There are also reports showing that Verizon could offer the Galaxy S10 5G this spring. After that, other carriers could follow suit.
