OnePlus confirmed in July 2018 that the OnePlus 3 and 3T would be updated to Android Pie, but we haven't heard much about those updates since then. That's changing today.
OnePlus has announced a round of closed beta testing for the OnePlus 3 and 3T's update to Android Pie. If you're interested in giving the beta a try, you can apply right here. If you do get in, OnePlus says you'll be flashing builds "very often" and that you may have to perform clean flashes that could cause data loss.
"We have been hard at work baking that sweet pie, to ensure it tastes delicious we'd like to invite some of you to taste it first and make sure it's ready to serve it to the rest of the community," OnePlus said in its announcement of this closed beta test.
We've already seen the OnePlus 5, 5T, and 6 get updated to Android Pie, so now it's the OnePlus 3 and 3T's turn to be updated. We still don't know exactly when the final update will begin rolling out, but the fact that OnePlus is now kicking off a closed beta shows that progress is being made. And hey, at least OP3 and OP3T owners know that Android Pie is still coming to their devices.
