We learned earlier this month that Energizer would be bringing 26 phones to MWC 2019, including one model with a whopping 18,000mAh battery. Now that MWC has rolled around, we're getting a look at that phone and its massive battery.
The Energizer Power Max P18K Pop was shown at MWC, boasting a battery that's 18,000mAh and a body that's 18mm thick, says Expert Reviews. To compare, the Galaxy S10 is 7.8mm thick, the iPhone XS is 7.7mm thick, and the OnePlus 6T is 8.2mm thick.
Energizer says that the Power Max P18K Pop can get you two days of video playback or a full 50 days of standby. "But how long does that battery take to recharge when it does run out?" you may be asking. Energizer says that with its 18W charger, you can recharge the Power Max 18K Pop in around two hours over USB-C.
In addition to offering lengthy battery life, the Power Max P18K Pop's battery can be used as a power bank for other devices, which is great since it's larger than many dedicated power banks on the market.
While the battery may be the main attraction here, the rest of the Power Max P18K Pop's spec list isn't too shabby. It's got a 6GB of RAM, 128GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot for adding more storage. There's a 6.2-inch 2280x1080 screen and a dual front camera setup that pops up from inside the device, offering 16MP and 2MP snappers. There's a triple camera setup around back with 12MP, 5MP, and 2MP sensors, and inside the body are dual SIM slots and an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 processor.
The Energizer Power Max P18K Pop will launch in June with Android 9 Pie and a €600 ($682 USD) price tag. With its super thick body and massive 18,000mAh battery, it's aimed at people who prioritize battery life over everything else. At a time when it seems that some smartphone makers are focusing on making their phones thinner and thinner, it's nice to see Energizer not worrying about how thick their phone is and instead just packing a huge battery in its device for folks that want crazy long battery life.
Would you make the Energizer Power Max P18K Pop your daily driver?
