The new Galaxy S10 phones include a dedicated Bixby button, just like the past several of Samsung's flagships have. There's something different about the Galaxy S10's button, though, and it's sure to make a lot of people happy.
Samsung will allow Galaxy S10 owners to remap the Bixby button to launch whatever app you want, as discovered by The Verge. Included is a setting that'll let you open a third-party app with a single or double press of the button. Just be aware that you won't be totally rid of Bixby, because whichever option you don't choose will open Bixby, as will holding down the button.
The bad news is that this feature isn't available on any other Galaxy S flagships, and Samsung hasn't said whether or not it'll bring the ability to remap Bixby to its previous phones.
Ever since Samsung began using a dedicated Bixby button on its phones, Galaxy owners have been trying to remap it to launch other apps using hacks and workarounds. While Samsung would likely prefer that its customers not remap the button and instead use Bixby, it's nice to see the company offer an option to remap the Bixby button to launch a third-party app.
Which app would you remap the Bixby button to launch?
