MWC is one of the biggest mobile events of the year, where lots of major companies show off their new hardware. It looks like OnePlus will be one of those companies showing a new device at MWC 2019 later this month.
OnePlus has said that it'll show a 5G "prototype" at MWC 2019, which runs February 25-28. Little is known about the device itself, but OnePlus says it'll allow attendees to "connect and communicate" with the community using 5G and show the possibilities of "5G gaming".
OnePlus has said on multiple occasions that it plans to launch a 5G phone in 2019, so today's news doesn't come as a huge surprise. The device is expected to launch on European carrier EE this year, offer 5G connectivity, and include a Snapdragon 855 processor. OnePlus has also said that it expects its 5G phone to cost $200 to $300 more than its previous smartphones.
It's unclear if we'll hear any more info about OnePlus's 5G phone at MWC, like its specs, launch date, or price, but it'll be exciting to see what OnePlus has cooked up for its first 5G smartphone. Stay tuned.
