The fact that the OnePlus 6T lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack has earned the device some criticism, but today it's been confirmed that the flagship does have some audio features to try and make up for its lack of a jack.
Dirac Research today confirmed that two of its audio features are included with the OnePlus 6T to help it "produce a sophisticated, premium listening experience." The OnePlus 6T's speaker is optimized by Dirac Power Sound, which the company says helps to deliver clearer, more natural sound as well as richer details and more powerful bass.
Dirac and OnePlus also worked together on the OnePlus Bullet earphones, using Dirac HD Sound tech to measure and correct the impulse and frequency response of the headphones to help improve sound quality.
Lots of people rely on a 3.5mm headphone jack to listen to music on their smartphone, so when a device is missing that port, it can be a bit of a pain. OnePlus tried to make up for ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack by working with Dirac to improve the sound output of the OnePlus 6T's speaker and headphones. Considering many people rely on their phone for consuming audio and video content, this is good news.
If you have a OnePlus 6T, what do you think of its speaker and headphone performance?
