Amazon's Alexa assistant is getting a new feature for homes where being quiet is important.

Whisper Mode is now rolling out in the U.S. With this feature, you can talk to Alexa in a whisper voice and the assistant will whisper back to you. The feature is available on devices set to U.S. English.

To enable Whisper Mode, launch the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone and go into Settings > Alexa Account > Alexa Voice Responses and toggle Whispered Responses.

Whisper Mode could come in handy at nighttime or whenever someone is sleeping and you don't want to disturb them. For example, if you've got a sleeping child, you can enable Whisper Mode and still be able to use your Alexa device without disturbing the child.
