Another Nokia phone with Android One has been revealed.
The Nokia 3.1 Plus is now official, packing a large 6-inch HD+ display and 3500mAh battery that maker HMD Global says will last for two days on a single charge. Also included with the Nokia 3.1 Plus is a dual rear camera setup with one 13MP main sensor and one 5MP depth-sensing camera that combine to help you get those bokeh shots with blurry backgrounds that are popular right now.
The body of the Nokia 3.1 Plus is made up of machined aluminum, which should help to give the phone a premium feel, and there's an internal die-cast metal structure for increased durability. Inside that body is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with up to 3GB of RAM and up to 32GB of built-in storage. Rounding things out is a microSD card slot, an 8MP front-facing camera, a rear fingerprint reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As mentioned before, the Nokia 3.1 Plus is an Android One device. It comes preloaded with Android Oreo and will receive two years of guaranteed OS updates as well as three years of guaranteed security updates.
The Nokia 3.1 Plus will launch in India at the end of October. Pricing will start at €159 ($184 USD) for the 2GB/16GB model and go up to €179 ($207 USD) for the 3GB/32GB model.
It's unclear when or if the Nokia 3.1 Plus will expand to other markets, but hopefully it eventually does. It looks like a solid Android phone for those in the market for an affordable device, offering a big screen, long battery life, and premium aluminum frame, all for around $200. Plus, the fact that it's an Android One phone means that buyers won't have to worry about their phone's software getting little to no post-launch update support, which can sometimes happen with lower-cost phones.
