Today Apple is releasing a new iOS 12.1 beta, and the update brings with it a major new feature.
More than 70 new emoji are included with the new developer and public beta releases of iOS 12.1, which are coming out today. The emoji will eventually be available on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac with future iOS, macOS, and watchOS updates for the public.
Some of the new emoji included in the update are characters with red hair, gray hair, and curly hair; a softball and a skateboard; a llama, raccoon, mosquito, and swan; and more emotive smiley face options.
Emoji are used by many people to communiucate every day, giving them a fast and more visual way to communicate in their text messages. That's why the addition of more than 70 new emoji in iOS 12.1 is big, and why many folks that haven't yet upgraded to iOS 12 will likely pull the update trigger when iOS 12.1 is released to the public.
